In the world of Industry, accidents occur. Those that threaten the environment are the hardest to handle. With an oil spill or biohazard on the ground, it can take months, as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars to remediate the area. Teams and equipment are hired out to come contain the poisoned area, and they will either use harsh chemicals to try and “digest” the toxins, or they will use machinery to dig up the contaminated soil and send it to a treatment facility where it is put through an oven to purge out the hazards. Or in some cases, the soil is simply excavated and transported to a specially licensed hazardous waste landfill without further treatment.
